29th February: The Organ-on-a-chip JumpStart Lectures with AZAR Innovations.
In person training course by leading Organ-on-chip training experts:
- Course leader has over 10 years’ experience in organ-on-a-chip development and more than 8 years training biologists to work with these systems. These interactive lectures are designed for those new to organ-on-a-chip assays and experiments.
- Includes lunch, e-material, discount options towards practical hands-on courses aka The Organ-on-a-chip Master Classes.
- There will also be technology talks too with a mini exhibition with the latest organ-on-a-chip tools.
Time: 9am-1:30pm at Hinxton Hall. (same venue as WORD+)
Your Course Leader: Dr. Hossein Eslami Amirabadi
Hossein is the founder of AZAR Innovations. Working with organs on chips since 2013, his passion is to enable biomedical scientists use New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) more efficiently. He received his PhD in Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering in 2018 in the group of prof. Jaap den Toonder at Eindhoven University of Technology.
He then joined the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) in collaboration with the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Utrecht University to develop intestine, intestine-microbiome and multi-organ on a chip models for pharmaceutical applications.
Leading the technical developments at TNO, Hossein and his colleagues invented the Intestinal Explant Barrier Chip (IEBC) currently used for contract research services. Seeing a gap between different disciplines, Hossein founded AZAR Innovations in 2021 with the aim to make organ on a chip available for everybody.
